Thomas Jansen had the vision in 2017 to bring together the services of an established payroll service bureau with that of what became the first and only native Salesforce platform human capital management and payroll processing application. Thomas saw that many Human Capital Management (HCM) technical solutions and the functional processes that support them, are disparate, disjointed, and systematically disconnected. There are numerous companies providing proprietary non-integrated solutions that do not meet the complete needs of a company. As cloud-based solutions, such as Salesforce, drive to an integrated and secure environment, the current providers of HCM products such as Workday, Zenefits, ADP, Paychex, and Paylocity, continue to promote costly non-natively integrated solutions. These competitors in the HCM vertical have size but only within their proprietary platforms. This limits scalability since their services are not natively integrated with other business critical applications (e.g. sales, marketing, service delivery) without complex, time consuming, costly, and kludgy integrations.
Thomas is a career technology leader with over 20 years of software engineering and business operational executive experience. His experience crosses a number of industries including financial services, commercial software, health care, industrial equipment, telecommunications, and others.
Thomas is a resident of Jupiter, Florida, is married to his wife, Kelly of 17 years, and a committed father to his daughter, Sydney, who is a hard working student at The King's Academy.
Romeo Chicco is a founder of Sunrise HCM and the owner of PayMaster, Inc. a South Florida based payroll service bureau that has been in business for over 25 years. He is a dedicated family man who has been married to his lovely wife for 25 years and they have two beautiful children and two adorable pups. He resides in South Florida and is one of the most hands on owners you will ever meet. He is strongly committed to both his family and business and takes both very seriously. He has been known to be at clients offices at 6 a.m. or at a business location late into the evening, if that’s what a client needs or requests.
His strong character and personal and professional ethics have set the tone for the day to day operations of the business. He doesn’t bring someone into the Sunrise HCM family unless they exhibit the same passion for doing right by the clients.
Romeo is also very active in the payroll industry and sits on several boards, including the Independent Payroll Providers Association and Payroll Fraud Protection Group. In 2016 he received the recognition of Member of the Year from the Independent Payroll Providers Association, an organization he has been a charter member of since 1997. He also spends time volunteering as well as serves on the board of a number of non-profit organizations.
With a deep love for technology, a quick wit about him and the ability to make everyone he comes in contact with feel welcomed and comfortable, Romeo is a pure joy to know and work with day to day.
William Rich has been in software engineering for over 35 years. He has experience in both scientific and business environments, including team lead for post-flight analysis of space shuttle ascent and re-entry at NASA as well as accounting and financial software for business and industry. He has had extensive experience in all phases of the software engineering process, from proof-of-concept and requirements to production deployment and go-live. He is dedicated to software engineering excellence and believes that this can be accomplished by close teamwork, clear communication among team members and a rigorous disciplined approach to all phases of the software engineering process.
John Carey is a founding member of Sunrise HCM. Over the last 10+ years, John provided Salesforce platform business automation implementation services to over 100 companies in a myriad of business domains. In most every platform implementation, John heard from his clients the need for a human capital management and payroll product and service on the Salesforce platform. Until Sunrise HCM, no such product existed. As a team member of Sunrise, John provides both business solution and technical architecture leadership.
John is a solutions architect with experience in driving implementations at the intersection of business process and technology and in recent years focused on the Salesforce platform primarily working on CRM, Professional Services Automation, Revenue Management, and Accounting solutions. John is a meticulous operational leader who inspires cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance solutions and improve business process using Salesforce automation. John, is a collaborative business partner equally adept at building customer relationships, influencing stakeholders, and navigating challenging negotiations.
John is a resident of Houston, Texas with his wife Ceila and father of two children Megan and Jared.
Sid is a founding member of Sunrise HCM and a veteran of the Salesforce platform with more than 11 years of experience. Sid is also the founder of 360 Degree Cloud, a Salesforce Silver Consulting Partner and Salesforce Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Partner with a number of Salesforce AppExchange listed applications.
With a Masters in Business Administration and a degree in Software Engineering, Sid has the perfect amalgamation of business and technical architecture skills allowing him to balance architecture requirements with business needs.

With degrees in Finance and Accounting, Peter has spent the last 10+ years focused on large scale financial systems reengineering aimed at positioning organizations to maximize efficiency and improve technological and operational capabilities. Throughout his career, Peter has helped clients implement large scale CRM and financial change initiatives, guiding results which improve key performance indicators including stakeholder engagement, revenue optimization, and operational efficiency. Given his strong financial acumen, Peter's consulting embraces his exceptional talent for data analysis and financial modeling; as a project leader he works diligently with teams to ensure projects are designed and managed to achieve project objectives, leverage best practices, and exceed client expectations.
